Bike Rides & Routes

Published and official info from NPS and Forest service websites seem to indicate that a lot of the rides in the area are best for intermediate and advanced riders. There are several trails in the Pacific wilderness where eBikes are forbidden… and some where bikes altogether are not allowed. The park’s roads however are spectacular for road biking.

From the US Forest Service Website: There are literally hundreds of miles of trails and roads to explore in the Sequoia National Forest, and a bike is a great way to see much of them.  Many trails are steep or rocky and may be for advanced riders only, we recommend you contact us before choosing a trail to ride. Explore forest service trails here.

From the NPS Website: There’s a road that not too many people know about: the River Road in Cedar Grove. This one-lane dirt road winds through the forest and parallels the Kings River. It requires high clearance, so vehicle traffic tends to be light. This makes it a great place to ride your bike, walk, or run. More Info Here

From PJ Cycling: Cycling in the land of the giants. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are an incredible place to ride.  The parks have handful of the hardest climbs in California, including the secluded Mineral King Road and the grueling General's Highway. More Info Here

Overview

Ride your bike to hidden water falls and beautiful hanging gardens located in Zion National Park using the Pa'Rus trail. Road biking is possible, but extreme caution should be used as shoulders are narrow and traffic can be heavy at times.

Rentals

The closest town and rental facility new Sequoia and King’s Canyon is in the town of Visalia, a 45 minute drive from the Parks. If you want to rent bikes, plan on renting a rack as well to transport your bikes to to the park.
